Truly a museum quality work by the master J.E. Gourgue from the collection of Kenneth Botto, photographer and artist. This painting captures the moment a Caribbean wind surprises a farmer as he tends his garden. Tree limbs snap, roof tiles lift off even the front door buckles. Kenneth J. Botto of Bolinas, a photographer whose works was shown in the New York Metropolitan Museum and the New York and San Francisco museums of modern art, died July 2, 2008. He was 71. Mr. Botto, easily recognizable in tiny Bolinas in his black garb and white beret, was one of the first directorial photographers, who emphasize the theatricality of their staged shots.
